How can a company build trust?

1)     Create set of values that define an company: For example, Zappos has created   a list of company core values that has been idolized in its industry.

2)     Build and manage strong relationships based on trust: Research shows (Golin/Harris) that companies that have built long-term relationships based on trust are more likely to be financially unscathed by an economic downturn, than companies who don't.

3)     Embrace transparency: Open communication on the management end, is a leading catalyst to building trust and long-term relationships.

4)     Make a commitment to contribute to society: A great way to build employee moral and community acceptance is to encourage employees to volunteer at a local charity or non-profit.
